Ray was a long-time active and beloved member of EUU, serving several terms as Vice-President and on the Nominating Committee as well as helping organize numerous retreats, creating and maintaining our software systems, hosting winter solstice celebrations and serving and helping in what other ways he could.
An online memorial service to celebrate Ray’s life will take place on Sunday, August 29, at 6 pm German time (5 pm in the UK, noon in New York).

For the past year, Unitarian Universalist women from around the world have been joining a gathering on Zoom to show solidarity and support for each other during the Covid-19 pandemic. These meetings of global sisterhood are continuing on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month.

Social Action has a relatively large budget, and we’d like to spend it all. This is due in large part to the success of our virtual retreats and the generous donations from those who attended. Thank you! We are focussing this year on inter-fellowship community building. We concentrate on three program areas: people, planet and partnerships.

I am writing to you once again as your Pledge Drive Coordinator, following the Spring retreat, which enjoyed excellent registration numbers. The retreat produced a sizable surplus for EUU’s Social Action budget, as did our fall 2020 retreat.
As a result, we’ve been able to increase our Social Action budget for 2020 and 2021 and should be able to maintain a higher level in 2022 – a welcome change from previous years, when we had to cut our donations. EUU is proud to be giving more during the pandemic.
But a part of our Social Action budget still comes from our pledges. And we do continue to have other ongoing costs.
All this is to say that we continue to need your pledges as before. So please try to give generously again this year.
