FAQs for the Nov 12–15 Online Retreat

Thank you to EUU members and friends who have signed up in the first week of registration for the upcoming Fall 2020 retreat, an online Fall Festival available to participants all over planet earth.

We are encouraged by your curiosity and interest, in some of the details we have not yet revealed. Accordingly, here is a list of frequently asked questions. We will update you later this month with a comprehensive workshop schedule. Workshop slots are limited, and we will assign you based on the order in which you first registered for the retreat.

FAQs about the online Fall Festival: Nature and Wonder Nov 12–15

How many participants can we accommodate on Zoom?
Our enhanced Zoom Pro account will accommodate up to 1000 participants, however, we expect around 100 participants.

We’re not really going to be at our computers for four days, are we?
A good retreat experience requires a healthy balance, therefore, we ask you to make a commitment to get outside into nature in between sessions.  We are limiting the time for each session to 1 hour and 15 minutes, with healthy breaks in between. Some of us may not have direct access to nature during the retreat, so we will make it easy for you to tap into Nature videos and meditations, and encourage you to find connection to nature before and after our weekend together.
Only Saturday will have all-day programming, and we will include lengthy breaks. Thursday activities begin at 18:00, and Friday at 19:00. Sunday service will be at 4pm to be accessible from more time zones than a morning service. Friday, and Saturday, and Sunday will include a Central European Time morning meditation. We encourage Fellowships and At-Large members to schedule nature-focused activities locally, during the event, with respect for local COVID guidelines.

How much does it cost?
It costs what you choose to contribute. You will find a number of choices on the registration and if you wish, fill in the line with another preferred amount.

When does Registration close?
(Update, November 1) Registration is now closed, if you are registered for the retreat, please sign up for your choice of workshops before 4 November 2020. As workshops fill, priority for first choice will be given in the order that you first registered for the retreat.

How will I be able to interact with my friends?
More than half of your online time will be in smaller break-out sessions, such as during the icebreaker, workshop sessions on specific topics, and in the “lobby” and “lounge” where you can drop in and participate in conversations with groups of various sizes in informal discussions. If you have experience in facilitating these types of activities online, or are willing to learn please contact us.

My browser doesn’t show pictures and I can’t find the registration link
No problem. Just click here.

Who is organizing this retreat?
Emily Searle-White and Matt Gilsenan are the retreat co-chairs. The rest of the retreat committee, workshop leaders, Zoom facilitators, ministerial help, and other help exceeds 30 people. Let us know if you would like to contribute your time in some way.
