The Theme Speaker will be Rev. Abhi Janamanchi
Preliminary title: Heads, Hearts and Hands
Unitarian Universalists have readily acknowledged the division between “heads,” “hearts,” and “hands,” between “creed” and “deed,” between “being” and “doing.” One of the earliest expressions of Unitarian thought in the United States was Abigail Adams’ famous quote, “To be good, and do good, is the whole duty of man, comprised in a few words.”
Our retreat next spring will explore the interaction of our bodies, thoughts, and actions so that we may become more fully present and alive. By engaging in practices that bring our heads, hearts and hands into alignment, we may discover our whole and imperfect selves. This inner work prepares us for outer work, allowing us to live out our values in the larger world.
