In observance of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and Girls, you will hear from Cheryl Thomas, founding Director of Global Rights for Women, and from Philippine gender activist and advocate Cecilia Hofmann. Since 1993, Cheryl has worked with partners around the world to promote women’s human rights, collaborating with the United Nations to develop model standards on effective legal reform regarding gender-based violence (GBV). As co-founder of Gender Watch against Violence and Exploitation (GWAVE), Cecilia has assisted numerous victims of GBV, providing legal assistance and psychosocial services.
