Samhain – Christina Tomlow-de Muinck Keizer
“Throughout the world, people celebrate and commemorate ancestors in festivals and celebrations. These often center on offering food, good wishes and lighting candles for their dearly departed. The best known of these is the Day of the Dead in Mexico. In the Celtic wheel of the year, this is the celebration of Samhain. In our part of the world it coincides with the waning of energy in nature. Summer has ended and we feel the dark season of winter coming.
On Sunday, 3 November we will celebrate a ritual to commemorate our ancestors and take a moment to focus on how the energies in nature play out in our own lives.”
