The service title is a paraphrasing of Frederick Douglass’ “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?” This worship service will explore what the U.S. holiday of Thanksgiving can mean to an American or a Canadian living in Paris, a native of France or a native of another country, and in the context of the Unitarian Universalist faith. Whether or not Thanksgiving is part of your family practices, all are invited to reflect on the traditions they hold dear: how they came to be, what values they remind us of, and how they evolve as we carry on those traditions. Both children and adults will be encouraged to participate
Hybrid Services – In Person + Online
We will be starting hybrid services which means we will welcome you in person at
La Maison Verte: 127 Rue Marcadet
Paris 75018
and will be live-streaming the services via Zoom for those who cannot come or chose not to come to the service at LMV.

According to French law, it is not necessary to have the Pass Sanitaire, but:
– Masks will be mandatory; chairs will be spaced out throughout the room, gel will be ready at the door.
– We will be singing with masks on.
– A babysitter will be available if you plan on bringing children.
– Unfortunately, we will not be able to have coffee and snacks after the service in the room, but people who would like to meet up at another location are welcome to do so.
VIA Zoom: This service will also be live streamed via Zoom. You may log on starting at 10h00. Your microphones will be off but if you need technical assistance, you may use the Chat function. You can also use the Chat during candles of joys and concerns. As with our previous Zoom services, please don’t use the Chat during the service.
