Online Activities and Opportunities for More

by Shulamit Levine-Helleman

At the most recent retreat, several people expressed the need for more online activities, even suggesting some activities that we already have. So here is an overview of what opportunities already exist and how we can add more.

EUU Online Book Club — Reading European Literature – EUU has a book club which gets together on the last Sunday of each month to discuss a book one of us has chosen. Several members have moved away recently, and we would love to have new people join us. All you need is a willingness to read the book and discuss it with other EUU members and friends. More information, including books we have read so far. For information, contact Caitlin <>

Social Activities – Three different online Zoom groups started up during the Pandemic and are still going strong. Do you want to socialize with other EUUs in an informal setting?

All are open to members and friends of EUU, and you don’t have to sign up for any specific meeting. Just contact the organizers for the link and join in.

EUU Services – Many of the Fellowships live-stream their regular services. And some At-Large members of the EUU have a monthly activity called the At-Large Online Informal Spiritual Community. It’s intended for at-large members of EUU and friends to get together for a monthly service online, led by our participants. Contact if you’d like to join this activity.

UUbies – Young adults (40ish and younger, or young at heart) near and far are welcome to join EUU’s “UUbies” Whatsapp group chat, where we hold virtual space to connect, stay in touch between retreats/events and organize together. All are welcome!

Do you want to plan an ongoing group or a one-off meeting? As long as your idea is in keeping with EUU values and of interest to EUU members, any EUU member is welcome to use the EUU Zoom account. Just mail zoom_coordinator@europeanuu.orgInclude your idea, your proposed date(s) and your target group for participants. You may want to discuss your idea with your EUU Coordinating Council (CC) representative (the one for your fellowship or for at-large members) first.

The Zoom Coordinator will check the schedule to make sure your proposed date and time is available, run the idea by relevant CC members, and finally set up a Zoom link for you to use and send you a Zoom invitation which you can send off to participants.

We can also help you publicize the event.
