Social Action Committee “Open House” Meeting on November 20

Are you curious about what EUU’s Social Action Committee does and how it works? Come to our Open House meeting on November 20 at 7:30 pm on Zoom and find out. To get the Zoom link, write to SAC@europeanuu.org

The Committee meets once a month on Zoom and meetings are open to any interested EUU members, but this is a special invitation to attend the November meeting at which we will be discussing our strategy for 2025. Those responsible for Social Action in the fellowships are especially invited to attend.

Knitted hat in front of cat in basketSupport for Social Action projects is a significant line item in the EUU budget because our members have indicated that they want EUU to actively support our values in the wider community. The Committee finds suitable projects and allocates donations to them. Behind our deliberations lies the work of finding projects and investigating them to try to ensure we give where our money will make the most difference. The Committee also coordinates the Youth Exchange Program with the Unitarian High School in Transylvania.

We don’t only allocate money, however. We have initiated various EUU-wide projects such as the current Hats for Humanity project and collection of various items (like eyeglasses) at retreats. Finally, we try to support social action projects in the EUU fellowships and increase communication about those, so that one fellowship can inspire and support another.

If you are interested in learning more about the Committee, how we work, and the projects that EUU has recently supported, please join us on November 20.

We hope to see many of you there!
