As a part of our Social Justice work and commitment to the LGBTQ+ community, several of our UUFP members went to the Gay Pride Parade on 28 June.
The day was HOT – about 34 °C. We met at a cafe in the shade and waited for the parade. We read that the parade was to begin around 15:30 and end at Republique around 17:00 or so. Ah, Paris time! We wandered over to the square and enjoyed the crowd there. But by 17:30 there was no evidence of the parade arriving. Sadly, due to the heat, we did not stay to see those who marched. It was disappointing! I know that we all wanted to cheer them on.
Next year, I think, we will plan accordingly and arrive a good bit later!
